One of my favorite projects in 2014 was taking the photos for the 2015 Down Syndrome Guild fundraising calendar. I loved meeting the 13 local celebrities but I ADORED meeting the 13 Down Syndrome “models”. Each model is a member of the Down Syndrome Guild and applied to be in the calendar (ahem! the DSG is taking applications for the 2016 calendar!)
One of my first shoots was with Morgan. She walked into the WFAA waiting room and was a little unsure of us all. Slowly she warmed up and before long she had selected me to put lip gloss on her – a task I nervously accepted (putting lipstick on myself is a chore and I did not want to make her look like a clown before we took photos). After that, we were fast friends and she even tried to put on my lipstick but settled on fixing my hair instead. She is such a fashionista!
When Ron Corning from WFAA was ready for his shoot with Morgan she was very unsure of him…until she saw how handsome he is and quickly decided that she wanted to take him to dinner. The rest of the shoot was so much fun. Morgan constantly had us laughing and smiling. She is extremely vivacious and not afraid to tell you if you need more lipstick. You gotta love her sass!
Here are my favorites of Morgan and Ron. As Morgan’s mom said after seeing the photos, it looks as if Ron is in “awe of her”…by the end of the shoot I think we all were.
